Riya(to the left): Riya is a first-year from New Jersey studying Computer Science and Molecular & Cellular Biology with a minor in Government. She is so excited to serve as a Director for HMUN India! Riya was involved with her high school's MUN club, and this year, she served as an Assistant Director for the General Assembly World Conference on Women during HMUN Boston. Outside of MUN, Riya is a part of the Harvard Undergraduate Biotechnology Club, The Crimson Sports Board, the Quantum Computing Association, the Clean Energy Group, Harvard Model Congress, and the Women’s Initiative in Leadership. In her free time, Riya enjoys reading, painting, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family (and her dog, Mocha!).
Riya is looking forward to welcome everyone to HMUN India 2025!

Selam(to the right):Selam Ambaw is an off-cycle senior at Harvard studying Sociology, Linguistics, and Religion with an interest in how people and institutions create and negotiate meaning. In her third time staffing HMUN India, she is incredibly excited to be presiding over the [insert assigned GA]. Now in her ninth (yes, this is crazy even to her) year of Model UN, Selam is honored to have HMUN India as her final conference experience. Besides MUN, she currently serves as Executive Director for the Massachusetts Small Claims Advisory Service, providing legal information to clients across the state, and conducts research for her senior thesis (which she loves to talk about so feel free to ask!). In her free time, Selam loves to read, draw, and find new food spots to try. And going on walks, on those few days Cambridge weather decides to cooperate.

 

 

ADDISON GADDY

DISARMAMENT AND INTERNATIONAL SECURITY COMMITTEE

Addison(to the left): Addison Gaddy is a rising junior at Harvard studying Government and Romance Languages and Literature. She’s from the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, where she was introduced to Model UN. Since then, Addison has spent –a little too –much of her time on Model UN events/activities, but she is incredibly grateful for the community and skills that MUN has brought her. She currently serves as one of the four head delegates of Harvard's intercollegiate Model UN team, has directed at in HNMUN and HNMUN-LA, and was the Under-Secretary-General for Regional and Specialized bodies for HMUN 2025. In addition to Model UN, Addison is involved in pre-professional clubs and groups within the Harvard community. When she finds downtime, she enjoys hanging out with friends, eating frozen yogurt, scrolling on TikTok, and listening to music (69,047 minutes worth in 2023). Addison is already counting down the days until HMUN India!

Margaret(to the right): Margaret is a rising sophomore studying Government with a possible minor in Economics from Dover, Massachusetts. Margaret is beyond excited to be directing DISEC at HMUN India! In the world of Model UN Margaret is the deputy director of Affairs for Harvard's Intercollegiate Model United Nations Team and was a director at HNMUN 2025. Outside of Model UN, Margaret is involved in Harvard's Bipartisan Solutions Group, the Philip's Brooks House and Harvard Running Club. She has also done a variety of work in Massachusetts State Politics including campaign organizing and legislative research. In her free time, Margaret enjoys running, swimming, biking, hiking and any generally excuse to spend time outdoors. Margaret is super excited to meet all of our delegates at HMUN India!

 

 

PATIL DJERJERIAN

UNITED NATIONS OFFICE FOR OUTER SPACE AFFAIRS

Patil is a rising senior studying Government and Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations with a language citation in French. She is Canadian, originally Armenian, and was born and raised in Dubai. Growing up with a culturally diverse background in a cosmopolitan city sparked her interest in international affairs, which led her to participate in Model UN throughout high school and at Harvard as a Director for HMUN China 2023, HNMUN Africa 2024, HMUN India 2024, and HMUN Boston 2024 & 2025. She also served as the Under-Secretary-General for the Economic and Social Council & Specialized Bodies of HNMUN Boston 2025 and Director-General for HMUN Dubai 2025. Outside of Model UN, she is the President of the Armenian Student Association and writer for The Harvard Crimson. In her free time, she likes to read, travel, and take long walks by the Charles river. Patil is incredibly excited to be back for HMUN India 2025!

NICHOLAS HALL

UNITED NATIONS ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMME

Nicholas Hall is a sophomore at Harvard College studying Applied Math and Economics. He is originally from the United States but grew up around the world, including in Italy, Belgium, Indonesia, and Austria. After participating extensively in the European MUN circuits as a high school student, Nicholas was eager to continue his MUN journey in college – so far he has directed at HMUN conferences in Boston, China, Dubai, and Australia. Outside of MUN, Nicholas serves as on the board of the Harvard College Consulting Group and serves as an Editor at the Harvard Review of Philosophy. In his free time, Nicholas can usually be found either traveling or masterminding his next trip on Google Flights. Nicholas is looking forward traveling to India soon, and he can't wait to meet all the new delegates and hear their ideas!

Ad-Hoc Committee of the Secretary General

Steven(to the left): Steven Giraldo is a junior at Harvard College, majoring in social studies with a secondary in statistics. Born and raised in Colombia, he spent eight years in Miami before making his way to the vibrant city of Boston. At Harvard, Steven is deeply involved in Model United Nations, serving as Chief of Staff for Harvard Intercollegiate Model United Nations (Harvard’s travel team), where he organizes team bonding events. Beyond MUN, he is an opinion writer for The Harvard Crimson’s editorial board, a summer consultant at the Boston Consulting Group, and a tour guide for Crimson Key.

Sophia(to the right):Sophia Mills is a rising junior in Leverett studying Government with a secondary in Economics and a language citation in Portuguese. She chose HMUN India because she is excited to experience a new culture while getting to know new people who enjoy MUN: win-win! Outside of MUN, Sophia enjoys reading, creating podcasts, and traveling. She will be directing the Ad-Hoc Committee of the Secretary General and can't wait to see the creative ideas!

Avani(to the left):Avani Rai is a rising junior at Harvard studying Economics and Statistics, with a minor in Government, from central Illinois. While she did not participate in Model UN in high school, she competed in Impromptu and Extemporaneous speech on the national and state public speaking circuits, allowing her to exercise similar communication and critical thinking skills. At Harvard, in an effort to pursue her interest in international relations, she joined the Intercollegiate MUN team and staffed and directed at HMUN and HNMUN Boston. Now, she is excited to take her love for MUN to India! Outside HMUN, Avani is involved in The Harvard Undergraduate Consulting Group, writes for The Harvard Crimson, and conducts economics research.

Caleb(to the right):Caleb Thompson is a rising junior at Harvard studying Applied Mathematics and Government. Growing up, he had the opportunity to embark on several impactful trips with his family, including month-long visits to Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan, which sparked a passion for learning more about the world. For his senior year of high school, he had the opportunity to expand his knowledge of the world even more by living in Adana, Türkiye as an exchange student. In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano, learning new languages, and spending for outside. Whether he is hiking or discussing international relations, exploration and curiosity unite his passions. Caleb cannot wait to meet the outstanding delegates participating in the UNSC for this iteration of HMUN India!

Andy Trujillo

Fayyaz(to the left): Fayyaz is a sophomore at Harvard studying Government with a secondary in Astrophysics. Fayyaz was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, although he has spent time in Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore while growing up. In the MUN world, Fayyaz currently serves as one of the Head Delegates of Harvard's Intercollegiate Model UN Team and has staffed HMUN Dubai, HMUN Australia, HMUN Boston, and HNMUN. Aside from MUN-related activities, Fayyaz is involved with the Harvard Association for U.S.-China Relations and the Harvard Association for Cultivating Inter-America Democracy. In his free time, Fayyaz enjoys playing pickleball, traveling, cooking with friends, and watching investigative documentaries on YouTube. Fayyaz is very excited to serve as your Director for HMUN India and looks forward to meeting all of you and hearing your innovative solutions to tackling some of the world’s most pressing issues. Andy(to the right): Andrea Gonzalez Trujillo is a second year student pursuing a joint concentration in Biomedical Engineering and Philosophy with a secondary in Government. She will be directing a Specialized Agencies committee at HMUN India 2025. Andrea is very involved in MUN on campus. She has directed for HMUN, HNMUN, HMUN India 2024, and HNMUN-Latin America 2025. She is also a member of Harvard's competitive MUN team. Andrea is also the Tour & Teach coordinator of the Crimson Key Society and a volunteer at Harvard Square's Homeless Shelter. In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants and writing. She absolutely loved being a CD for HMUN India last year and is beyond excited to come back and be in front room with the delegates!

 

 

RAHUL YATES

UNITED NATIONS POPULATION FUND

Rahul Yates is a rising junior at Harvard studying Economics and South Asian Studies. He is excited to make his MUN experience international with HMUN India, as he is highly interested in learning more about South Asia and would love to work professionally in India someday. Previously, Rahul has directed the Legal Committee at HMUN Boston and was a Director of Administration for HNMUN Boston. On campus, Rahul is involved with Harvard Consulting on Business and the Environment and helps coordinate exciting events for Harvard’s South Asian community through Harvard Dharma and the South Asian Association. In his spare time, Rahul enjoys watching Bollywood songs and playing the daily Wordle in 4 different languages. Rahul cannot wait to direct the UNFPA for HMUN India 2025!

KAITLIN CASCIO

ARTIC COUNCIL

Kaitlin is a rising sophomore studying Social Studies and Psychology that is super excited to be directing at HMUN India! She currently lives in Canaday Hall at Harvard but is originally from Alexandria, Virginia. This is Kaitlin’s first year in MUN, both competing on Harvard’s Intercollegiate Model UN team and staffing HMUN and HNMUN in Boston. She is currently a deputy director of socials for ICMUN, where she works to make sure her fellow delegates are having fun. Outside of Model UN, Kaitlin enjoys traveling, cooking food from different cuisines, reading thriller novels, painting, and is an avid New York Times-games player. Kaitlin can't wait to meet all of the delegates participating at HMUN India 2025!

 
 

 

Saarah Hassan

 
 

WORLD CONFERENCE ON WOMEN

Saarah Hassan is a rising sophomore at Harvard College concentrating in Government with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy. Originally Palestinian, she grew up in Mankato, Minnesota. Saarah joined Harvard's Intercollegiate Model UN team in her first semester and has since competed in the Intercollegiate Model UN circuit, traveling to three conferences in her first year. She served as the Director of the NATO 1955 ECO-SOC committee at HNMUN 2025 and is currently the Deputy Director of GA Training on the intercollegiate team. Beyond Model UN, Saarah is actively involved in theater at Harvard, the World Pre-Health Conference, and Youth Lead the Change. In her free time, she enjoys listening to show tunes and going on late-night drives with friends. Saarah is thrilled to serve as the Director of the World Conference on Women for HMUN India 2025. She eagerly anticipates an incredible conference and can’t wait to meet everyone in August!
