Harvard Model United Nations builds upon seven decades of experience - with the first Model League of Nations in 1927, followed by the first Model UN conference in 1953. HMUN is an initiative of Harvard University's IRC, engaging more than 6000 students annually across its conferences in the USA, China, India and UAE.
This year, to mark 14 years of HMUN India, we promise to make it bigger, better and deliver a meaningful experience to your students in Bengaluru and Delhi-NCR through dynamic committees, an array of exceptional speakers and unique engagements along with activities, workshops, and training sessions. The conference will witnesses the participation of over 1700 young minds from over 200 schools and 15 countries around the world.
“I had the opportunity to view HMUN through different perspectives and every single time it proved to be an experience that I will never forget. As a delegate back in 2016, I learnt the real meaning of diplomacy, research, and leadership. Over the years, HMUN has truly proven itself as a platform where Gen-Z gets to transform into a Generation of Solvers, all while having fun!”

Substantive Excellence
The staff of HMUN India is carefully selected to include the most passionate and dedicated directors from our Boston conference and our sister college conference, Harvard National Model United Nations. Each of the study guides is carefully crafted for its respective committee and reflects careful and thorough research. All of our directors are extremely knowledgeable, dedicated, and committed to the ideals of HMUN India and the broader educational mission of Model United Nations, resulting in well-run and focused committees. Many delegates leave our conference with a new-found passion for international relations and greater awareness of the issues that dominate our world.
Tradition and Innovation
Begun over 92 years ago with a simulation of the League of Nations, every Harvard Model United Nations conference is the product of years of gradual refinement. While our conference has expanded considerably since its inception, we are fully committed to ensuring and furthering the excellence of our conference experience at every session of HMUN, whether in Boston, China, Dubai or India. For the past 13 years, HMUN India has promoted a new class of international dialogue and remains dedicated to exploring new and exciting ventures for all conference participants, including delegates and faculty advisors. HMUN India will feature innovative committee simulations, cutting-edge technology, and, of course, great entertainment for delegates outside of committee.
